Give it a try today!  It’s Super Bowl Sunday! Who’s excited?  Who are you rooting for?  Let me tell you that you will be the winner of the day with this best guacamole recipe.  Hopefully you have the ingredients on hand, if not, it will be worth the trip to the store!

I married into a Hispanic family. I loved Mexican food already but I had honestly never really had guacamole or avocados for that matter.  That just wasn’t something that my family bought or cooked with.  So the first time they offered me guacamole I about died.  I wasn’t quite sure what to think of this green, creamy stuff that they had put in front of me.  I’m pretty sure I refused to try it for a FEW YEARS!  I can’t hardly believe it looking back.  I remember one day standing in my SIL’s kitchen and I finally decided to try it.  It was unbelievably delicious.  I’m fairly confident that I consumed most of the bowl they made.  When my in-laws make guacamole, they make a huge batch.  Like picture your biggest bowl in the kitchen, that is the size we are talking about here. And, it all gets eaten right then and there.  There generally aren’t leftovers, because this guac is just the best!

I was also a little squeamish about the cottage cheese.  That was also something I didn’t eat growing up, and it was in the guacamole.  I’m so glad I finally tried it.  I love that it adds a little more protein to the dish as well.

How To Make The Best Guacamole Recipe

First, round up all of these ingredients for the best guacamole recipe:

* 3 large ripe avocados

* 1 roma tomato diced

* 1-2 T diced up cilantro (could use essential oil instead)

* 2 stalks green onions (whites included, chopped up small)

* 1 small jalapeño or 1/2 of a large jalapeño (cut into very small pieces, you can remove the seeds if you don’t want it too hot)

* 1/4 C small curd cottage cheese

* salt and pepper to taste (could use pepper essential oil instead, just use a toothpick to get a tiny amount of essential oil in the guacamole)

* season salt to taste

* a dash of cayenne pepper

* 1-2 drops of lime essential oil

Next you are going to open and mash the avocados.  I don’t love my guac super creamy, so I kind of leave it chunky and am careful to mix the ingredients carefully.  If you like yours more creamy then, feel free to mash until creamy.  Then I add all of the ingredients.  I start with a little salt, pepper, cayenne and season salt.  Then, I of course taste it with a tortilla chip before adding anything else.  Start with one drop of essential oil and add more as needed.  I found this darling football container, so that’s what I’ll be taking the gauc in for our super bowl party today!  I’m so excited for you to try our family guacamole recipe, I hope you love it just as much as we do.  If you try it out, be sure to let us know how much you enjoyed this recipe!  One of the best things about this recipe is out fast it is to make. Family Secret Guacamole Recipe

Not only is this guac fast and easy, but it’s healthy too.  You’re friends and family will rave about it, but you don’t have to tell them the recipe or how easy it is to make!  Enjoy during your favorite football, basketball game or just for a family gathering.  Sometimes we all make up our own little individual portion to have just as a snack too.  I know it seems strange to add the cottage cheese, but seriously give it a try and it adds so much protein and makes those expensive avocados go even further.

 

Don’t you just love that darling football bowl?  If you can’t find something fun and you have some of our glass jars, those would be perfect to serve in too.  Then, everyone can have their own bowl, portioned out just for them.
