How to make an easy and cheap pumpkin spice foaming hand soap. Great hostess gift idea for Thanksgiving! Pin for later.

Let me show you how easy (and quick) it is to make a pumpkin spice foaming hand soap recipe.  Have you noticed that in a lot of the high-end stores, they are carrying essential oil soaps?  No?  Take a quick look online.  They are going for $13-$15 for a bottle!  WOW!  Making your own foaming hand soap is really quite cheap.  The ingredients go a long way so you can make foaming hand soap over and over again for a fraction of the cost of some of these boutique stores.  Plus, you know the ingredients that are in them, and that goes a long way in my book.

This pumpkin spice hand soap would also make a great gift.  Are you going to someone else’s home for Thanksgiving?  This homemade hand soap makes a cute, and thoughtful Thanksgiving hostess gift.  We’ve also designed a beautiful FREE printable label for your homemade hand soap too so don’t forget to grab that printable!

Ingredients Needed For Homemade Pumpkin Spice Foaming Hand Soap

  • Foaming Soap Pump Soap Bottle You can choose from clear or white on our website.
  • FREE printable pumpkin spice foaming hand soap label
  • 2 1/2″ Circle Labels Or you can print on a big square label and cut them out
  • 1 tsp Vegetable Glycerine (I got mine at our local health foods store)
  • 1/4 Cup Dr. Bronners unscented liquid castile soap
  • Ginger Essential Oil – 5 Drops
  • Cinnamon Essential Oil – 5 Drops
  • Clove Essential Oil – 5 Drops
  • Orange Essential Oil – 2 Drops

Although your bottle of vegetable glycerine and liquid castile soap is going to be rather large (and a bit pricey), you will be able to make many, many batches of foaming soaps with what you purchase.

Cinnamon and clove oils are often used to support the immune system.  So, support your immune system (and those you love), while having the BEST smelling foaming hand soap ever!  This pumpkin spice scent is absolutely wonderful.  The oil combo above is also great to have in your house in the diffuser, so give it a shot.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Foaming Hand Soap

Making your homemade soap is so easy.  You’ll thank me later.  Oh and I’m pretty sure you’ll laugh all the way to the bank!  You’re actually going to save money by making this.  Do you love some high-end stores and their amazing soaps?  Well, they can be extremely pricey.  $12+ for a bottle of soap?  Wow, no I think I’ll make my own.  Not only will I save money, but I will know what ingredients are actually in it!

Ok, let’s get started on making your amazing pumpkin spice hand soap!

First, get your empty foaming soap pump and make sure it is clean (even if it is new, give it a rinse out).  Really quick, let me talk about why I love foaming soap pumps so much.  It allows you to use way less ingredient wise and still get a wonderful product.

Next, you are going to add your Dr. Bronners liquid castile soap.  It is only 1/4 cup.  Carefully pour that into the bottle (you can use a funnel if that is easier).

Add 1 teaspoon of the vegetable glycerine in next.

Now it is time to add the essential oils to your handmade soap.  Hang in there, you’re almost done!

The last step is to add water to your mixture.  I like to aim my water to the side of the bottle so it doesn’t foam up.  Now, this is SUPER important.  You need to leave at least 1-2 inches of headspace between the top of the water and the top of your bottle.  Foaming soap pumps require air in order to make it foam.  If you fill it up too full you will not get that great foaming soap that you are looking for.

After all the ingredients and the water are in, put the lid on.  Now you are going to kind of gently swirl it around to mix in the ingredients.  Again you don’t want to shake vigorously or you will have foam inside your bottle (that’s not what we are going for).

Next, wipe off the outside of the bottle to make sure it is clean and dry.  Then apply your FREE printable label you got from us.  Tie it with a ribbon if you are gifting it and you have a cute gift, just like that.

Finished!  See, that didn’t take long.  I bet it took you 3-5 minutes total!  If you are gift giving your new foaming hand soap’s be sure to lock the top before you gift.  This will ensure that you don’t accidentally soap up something you didn’t mean to!  Our foaming hand soap containers easily lock and unlock when you are ready for use.
